Privacy Policy
Bloop sorts screenshots into useful categories and helps turn the text inside them into suggested actions, including calendar events, reminders, links, notes, and email drafts.
Bloop is built around a simple privacy boundary: screenshot image files stay on your device in the launch version. Bloop scans text locally first. When you Bloop a screenshot with AI, Bloop sends extracted text and small metadata over HTTPS for transient analysis so it can summarize, categorize, and suggest actions. The Bloop website separately uses optional, consent-based analytics described below.
Information Bloop Processes
- Screenshots from your photo library on your device.
- Text extracted from screenshots using on-device OCR.
- Lightweight metadata such as category names, capture date, timezone, language preference, app-generated item identifiers, and non-content credit/accounting identifiers.
- An optional profile name you enter to improve action suggestions.
- App settings, categories, notes, actions, and processing status stored locally on your device.
- Calendar destination preference when you choose a writable iOS calendar for event actions.
- Subscription and purchase status when paid plans are enabled.
Screenshot Images
Bloop does not upload screenshot image files to Bloop's analysis server in the current launch design. Images are used locally for preview, thumbnail generation, and text recognition.
Extracted Text And AI Analysis
When automatic screenshot processing is enabled or you tap Bloop it, Bloop extracts text locally first. Bloop may then send extracted text and lightweight metadata to Bloop's server for AI analysis. Extracted text may include personal information if that information appears in the screenshot.
Bloop's server uses the extracted text to answer that analysis request. Bloop's server code is designed not to intentionally log or persist screenshot images, OCR text, AI prompts, AI responses, summaries, categories, names, event details, or other private screenshot content.
Operational systems may keep non-content records needed for security, reliability, rate limits, subscriptions, AI-credit accounting, usage guardrails, and abuse prevention.
Service Providers
Bloop uses service providers to operate app features, purchases, subscriptions, hosting, rate limits, abuse prevention, AI text analysis, and optional website analytics. These providers may include Apple, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, Cloudflare Workers AI, Google Gemini, Google Analytics, and other AI text-analysis providers if the backend configuration changes. Providers process information as needed to provide Bloop's features and are subject to their own terms and privacy obligations.
Bloop does not sell screenshot text or use it for advertising. AI providers receive only the extracted text and small metadata needed to produce the requested analysis. Bloop does not send screenshot image files to AI providers in the launch build.
Tracking, Advertising, And Sales
Bloop does not sell your personal data. Bloop does not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking in the launch version. Bloop does not include a third-party analytics SDK in the launch build.
The Bloop website offers optional Google Analytics 4 measurement. If you accept analytics, the website may measure page views, visits, referring pages, approximate location, browser and device information, and clicks on links to Bloop's App Store page. Google Analytics may store a first-party _ga cookie to distinguish visits. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization remain disabled.
The Google Analytics script does not load when you decline. Your analytics preference is stored in your browser so the website can remember it. You can change that preference below.
Security And Safety
Bloop limits screenshot processing by keeping screenshot image files on device in the launch design, scanning text locally first, and sending extracted text only when AI processing runs. Requests to Bloop's server use HTTPS. Limiting what gets sent is still the best safety practice, even when the connection is secure. Bloop also uses non-content operational records for security, reliability, rate limits, subscriptions, AI-credit accounting, usage guardrails, and abuse prevention.
Bloop's hosted AI endpoints use server-side credit checks, rate limits, private provider keys, and App Attest monitoring to reduce abuse from non-Bloop clients.
AI suggestions, OCR text, categories, reminders, and calendar events may be incomplete or incorrect. Check and edit important details before relying on them, especially when screenshots involve money, health, legal issues, travel, addresses, links, dates, or private messages.
Data Retention
Data stored in Bloop on your device remains there until you delete it, clear it from Bloop, or delete the app. Server-side OCR text is processed transiently for analysis. Bloop's server code does not intentionally log or persist screenshot images, OCR text, AI prompts, AI responses, summaries, categories, names, event details, or other private screenshot content.
Cloudflare KV and D1 store non-content operational records such as rate-limit counters, monthly AI-credit counts, hashed user/item identifiers for credit idempotency, short-lived RevenueCat entitlement cache entries, App Attest challenge/key records, diagnostic pass/fail counters, and aggregate Workers AI usage counters used to control provider spend. These entries are not screenshot text, screenshot images, AI prompts, or AI responses.
