10 best categories for organizing iPhone screenshots

The best screenshot categories match the reason you saved the image. This ranking puts urgent commitments first and reference material later.

1. Tasks and reminders

Put bills, return windows, forms, delivery checks, and follow-ups here. These screenshots carry a verb such as pay, submit, cancel, check, or reply. Give each item a clear title and due date.

2. Events and calendar

Use this category for meetings, appointments, reservations, classes, and flights. A strong event screenshot includes a title and scheduled date. Review the time zone and location before you add it to Calendar.

3. Messages and replies

Recruiter emails, client questions, family plans, and conversations that need an answer belong together. Sort these by the person waiting on you, then draft the reply while the context remains fresh.

4. Money and receipts

Keep invoices, order totals, payment confirmations, subscription notices, and warranty details in this category. Separate proof of payment from a task. A paid receipt needs storage; an unpaid bill needs a reminder.

5. Travel and places

Flights, hotels, tickets, maps, addresses, and restaurant ideas can share one category. Split confirmed bookings from ideas you may use. Confirmed plans often need Calendar; saved places need a note or map action.

6. Jobs and work

Save job posts, interview schedules, client requests, project references, and workplace instructions here. Add company or project tags when you need to separate several active searches or assignments.

7. Shopping and orders

Product comparisons, sizes, prices, wish-list items, delivery notices, and return policies belong in shopping. Save the product name and link so you do not need to search the screenshot again.

8. Links and read later

Use this category for articles, tutorials, newsletters, social posts, and research. Keep the link and a short note about why you saved it. Delete the screenshot after the useful destination lives somewhere searchable.

9. Ideas and notes

Quotes, design references, instructions, lists, and loose ideas fit here. Give each screenshot a title you would type into search in a month. “Blue desk setup with wall shelf” works better than “inspiration.”

10. Food and recipes

Keep recipes, restaurant menus, dishes, ingredient lists, and cooking tips together. A recipe may produce a note, grocery list, or source link. A restaurant screenshot may need an address and reservation date.

Start with five categories

Choose the five categories that match your current camera roll. Most users can begin with Tasks, Events, Money, Shopping, and Links. Add Travel, Work, or Recipes when those screenshots appear often enough to deserve a filter.

Bloop includes practical default categories and lets you create custom categories. Quick Scan extracts searchable text on your device. Bloop it adds a summary, category, and suggested action when you choose AI processing.

Use action before topic.

A restaurant booking belongs with Events if you need to attend at a set time. A restaurant idea belongs with Food or Travel. The next step makes the category useful.
