Safe and private screenshot organization

Screenshots can contain names, addresses, receipts, messages, schedules, account details, health information, and other private text. Bloop is designed to organize them carefully.

Security for a screenshot organizer is not only about servers. It is also about product choices: what stays on the device, what gets sent for AI, what is stored, which permissions are requested, and whether important actions stay editable after Bloop creates them.

Screenshot images stay on device in the launch build

Bloop uses screenshot image files locally for previews, thumbnails, and text recognition. In the launch design, Bloop does not upload screenshot image files to Bloop's analysis server.

Free local OCR comes first

Bloop scans readable screenshot text locally first. That means a screenshot can become searchable scanned text without using AI credits. Local OCR is also the fallback when the user has no AI credits, is offline, or an AI request fails.

Optional AI uses extracted text, not screenshot images

When AI processing runs, Bloop may send extracted OCR text and lightweight metadata to Bloop's server and the active AI provider for that request. That text can still be personal if the screenshot contains personal information, so Bloop keeps the request focused on the text needed for sorting, summaries, and actions.

Operational records avoid screenshot content

Bloop's server is designed not to store screenshot images, OCR text, AI prompts, or AI responses as product data. Operational systems may keep non-content records for security, reliability, rate limits, subscriptions, AI-credit accounting, usage guardrails, and abuse prevention.

Permissions are tied to features

Safety means editable actions

AI suggestions can be wrong. Calendar and reminder actions should stay easy to check, edit, or undo after Bloop creates them, especially when dates, times, locations, links, or sensitive details are involved.

Bloop is a productivity tool, not a substitute for professional judgment. Users should review important screenshots involving money, health, legal issues, travel, or private messages before relying on an action.

Abuse prevention protects the service

Bloop uses credit limits, rate limits, and non-content operational checks to keep the AI service from being abused. That helps protect user experience and keeps screenshot processing available for legitimate app use.

Simple safety rule: screenshot images stay on device, OCR starts local and free, AI processing is optional, and important actions stay editable.
