Open a screenshot location in Maps on iPhone
A friend sends a restaurant. A travel post names a hotel. An event flyer shows an address. Bloop can pull the place from the screenshot and open it in Maps.
Keep the most specific place name
A useful location query includes the business or venue, city, branch, and street address when the screenshot shows them. “Harbor Walk Hotel Cebu” beats “hotel.” “National Museum of Fine Arts Manila” beats “museum.”
Check spelling and the city before opening the map. Chains can have several branches, and social posts often omit the location.
Open the place from Bloop
- Choose the screenshot in Bloop.
- Run Quick Scan or Bloop it.
- Review the detected place or address.
- Tap Open Maps.
Bloop opens an Apple Maps search for the detected place. Apple says Maps can search addresses, landmarks, areas, businesses, and categories. Read Apple’s guide to searching for places in Maps for the current iPhone controls.
Use Google Maps when that is your preferred map
Open Bloop Note and copy the exact place query, then paste it into Google Maps. You can also tap Search Google and open the place result from Search. Google Maps accepts addresses, place names, and categories on iPhone and iPad, according to Google’s location search guide.
Bloop’s Open Maps button uses Apple Maps. Copying the query gives you a clean handoff to Google Maps without claiming that Bloop controls Google Maps.
Use a note for places you may visit later
A restaurant screenshot often needs more than a pin. Keep the dish, opening hours, reservation note, neighborhood, and person who recommended it. Set a reminder before a trip or add the place to your preferred saved list after checking the listing.
Check the current address, hours, booking rules, and branch. A screenshot may show an old post or a business that moved.
Match the place to the right action
- Open Maps: addresses, restaurants, stores, venues, landmarks, and hotels.
- Add Event: a reservation, concert, tour, class, or appointment with a date.
- Bloop Note: travel ideas, recommendations, menus, and places with no fixed plan.
- Remind Me: book the table, check availability, or revisit the idea before a trip.
Protect private addresses
Review home addresses, private invitations, and contact details before sending them to a map or search service. Bloop keeps the screenshot image on the device, but the place query leaves Bloop when you open a third-party map or search.
